Black Diamond Golf Club and Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Peterborough partner to bring 16 children to a week long golf day camp
Dear Ms. Evans,
On behalf of Black Diamond, we would like to congratulate you for the great work you do in our community. And we want to do something really nice for you and your kids. Please accept this invitation to partner with us to promote junior golf to the neediest and most-deserving little brothers and sisters in your database. You know who they are or how to select them for a golf scholarship based on criteria like service to their community and fellow peers, academics, achievements, etc. Our programs are all about achievement and the learning of life skills such as integrity, character, honesty, respect, dedication, commitment, etc. and they are guaranteed to build self-esteem quickly and effectively. A note from our new instructor, Shawn Robertson, follows;
"I am writing you as a grateful, former "Little Brother" of "Big Brother" Heike Goodhuis. With his mentoring and encouragement, I have enjoyed a successful music career, and a subsequent career as a college professor at Georgian in Orillia/Barrie and Canadian PGA Class A Member, running the finest golf clubs and academies in central Ontario. I have a beautiful young family and I know that my moral upbringing has been well-fostered towards family and philanthropy. I owe much of my confidence to your organization and would like to give something BIG back. My family is a golfing family. Golf has kept us close and can help others belong in different ways. Our families want your families to have eight spots for boys and eight spots for girls to attend a full-week golf camp at our Learning Centre. We appreciate the Big Brothers and Big Sisters organizations everywhere. As I was previously the Head Golf Professional at Hawk Ridge in Orillia and The Ridge at Manitou in Parry Sound, I had the privilege of working with the central Ontario offices with their fundraising needs and event organization. Our club in Orillia hosted the event for Marilyn Watson's team for years. I have no doubt she would attest to my past commitments there. And now, I have moved back home to operate the learning centre at Black Diamond Golf Club and I'm thrilled to be back and planning a media launch for this coming week. Our ribbon-cutting Grand Opening and complimentary junior instructional demonstration clinics are to be pre-empted by a cheque presentation. We have discussed our options for donation and unanimously agreed on Big Brother and Big Sisters of Peterborough".
Please accept our proposed donation of sixteen (8 boys, 8 girls) tuition-paid-in-full at $299 for a cheque presentation tentatively scheduled for noon on Saturday May 22nd, 2010 at the Learning Centre Putting Green at Black Diamond Golf Club in Pontypool. On behalf of the club and our partner, Shawn Robertson, we hope to hear from you soon and have reserved the week of Monday, August 30th -- September 3rd for a fully-sponsored, all-day, all-week, golf day camp for the most-deserving kids, whom you select. The hours of the camp are 9:00 am - 5:00 pm with early/late drop-off options available as needed. Feel free to contact me directly on my cell phone at 705.930.4271.
Thanks, Darlene. Here's to continued success in 2010 and beyond,
Sincerely,
Darren Stalteri, General Manager
